For most people, waking up early in the morning is a burden. Just recently, I understood the value of starting my day right and of having a peaceful morning. I used to rush to work, run to the bathroom, dress up, do my make-up and hair in 15 minutes. Needless to say, I would get to work stressed and hungry. One day, I took action and finally understood that the type of morning you have will impact your entire day.

Now, I embrace mornings, it’s a great reminder that life is moving on and that I have another chance to make things right. Developing positive vibes throughout your day is one thing you can do, but adopting a daily ritual will benefit you greatly.

So here are 5 tips you can apply to start your day right.

1) Stay in bed 10 minutes before getting up

Take 10 minutes to yourself, be grateful that you get to have another day, stretch and breathe deeply. Also, visualize your dreams and goals, it will set the tone of your day and motivate you to go to work or meet a new client. 3) Give a hug or kiss someone

If your partner is home, give him or her a kiss; make love if you have time. Hug your mother, your father or just anyone living with you. I like to hug my niece before she goes to school. It soothes stress and sends positive vibes to you and people around you. You never know what type of day you will have, and I bet you will remember that affectionate hug or kiss you got if you have a bad day.

4) Drink a glass of water – Refuel yourself

You’ve slept for 6 to 8 hours. Your body is dehydrated, and your body needs water. Replenish yourself with warm water, and add a slice of lemon. Adding lemon will boost your metabolism, burn fat and give you a boost of energy. In addition, lemon water is good for your skin and your digestive system.

5) Listen or read something positive
